The purpose of the Canadian Taxonomy Listserv is to provide a forum for discussion by resource database managers of issues relating to use of the 211LA County Taxonomy for classifying human services. Resource staff can post questions about indexing principles, the appropriate terms to select in specific situations or the need for new terms or modifications in existing ones. They can thus use the listserv to solicit the opinions of and exchange information with their peers. The listserv is a project of the InformCanada and Findhelp Information Services and although the U.S. Taxonomy Editor and other 211 LA County staff occasionally post questions or responses, the views and opinions expressed are those of the authors.
The Canadian listserv can be accessed at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Can_Taxonomy/.
