Comments | Counseling programs for sexually abused children typically handle all cases of involving sexual contact with children, not just those that involve family members. That being the case, Child Sexual Assault Counseling (once a subset of this term) became redundant as an indexing concept and it and its adult counterpart were removed. Use Child Sexual Abuse Counseling (RP-4500.0100-160) for counseling programs for children and this term for adult programs. If there are areas in which the distinction between child sexual abuse and child sexual assault is clearly maintained, use this term (Sexual Assault Counseling) and target terms to pinpoint the focus. |
