Definition Individuals who are in the process of making a decision about whether to have an urostomy, are scheduled for or have had a urostomy and are in the process of recovering, possibly with the aid of radiation or other further forms of treatment, or who have had the procedure done in the past. A urostomy is a surgical procedure which allows for the evacuation of urine from the bladder or kidneys to an outside collection device fitted with an emptying valve and tube.
